£120 - Brompton Full Service
i love Bromptons — and i've sorted every transmission problem, cable issue, and gear ratio upgrade my customers have thrown at me. Let me keep yours folding smoothly and riding safely, without the dealership price tag.
What's included
My 3hr Secondary Care Service plus an extra hour on Brompton-specific checks:
Full clean and component wear check, wheels and drivetrain removed and inspected
Brompton's folding system: main frame hinge, seat sleeve, stem hinge, rear frame pivot, suspension block, folding alignment, hinge clamp
Fold/unfold operation check
Local test ride — shifting and braking
Written feedback and advisories on your invoice
Labour includes fitting common parts (chains, brake pads, cassettes). New parts aren't included in the price — I'll send a written quote via WhatsApp or email for approval before any work begins, and any new parts need paying for in advance. All work assumes your existing components are in serviceable condition.
Want an upgrade, not just a service?
If your goal is a comfier ride, an easier carry, or less pain on Bristol's hills, tell me about your model and your typical ride — i may be able to suggest a custom upgrade.
Case study: Laura brought in an older 6-speed Brompton S-Type with a Sachs 3-speed hub — worn sprockets, chain slipping on every hill. Her local dealer wanted to sell her a whole new rear wheel. Instead, I sourced new Sturmey Archer sprockets and a Brompton 44T crankset, giving her easier gearing at a fraction of the cost — and a bike that's now genuinely joyful to ride.
eBike servicing note: Mechanical servicing and repairs on eBikes are available, but electronic diagnostics, system fault diagnosis, firmware updates and motor servicing are not yet offered.
