A Brompton is still a bicycle mechanically, but servicing it is noticeably different from a “normal” bike because it’s designed to be a highly compact folding system, with Brompton-specific components. That changes both what gets serviced and how long it takes.

A Brompton specifically features a folding mechanism with load-bearing hinges:

• Main frame hinge

• Handlebar stem hinge

• Rear triangle pivot

• Folding pedal (on many models)

A Brompton also has a floating rear triangle & rubber suspension block system and uses proprietary gear systems.

A Full Service on your Brompton includes:

Fully checking the whole folding bicycle for wear and tear, removing and inspecting the wheels and drivetrain and checking all the nuts, bolts and components for wear or damage, before advising the customer if parts need replacing.

Advisories will also be made on the condition of your Brompton's hinges, pivots and seat sleeve.

Service Summary

Each Brompton will be assessed for wear & tear on an individual basis and a written quotation for any new parts needed during the service period will be sent for your approval, before work can begin. 

Note:  New parts are not included in the price. All new parts must be paid for in advance of your service period.
